Initially teaming with Brandon Van Danielson as the Young Lions, Blaze and BVD captivated audiences with their teamwork and amazing ability, capturing the PWA Tag Team Championship, which they held for several months before losing in a thrilling no holds barred tag match at Night of Champions 2009 to Super Wild. Blaze set out on his own as a singles competitor and flourished, knocking off T-Bone to become PWA Cruiserweight Champion, but his allegiance with BVD ended as a result.
